The Carbon Footprint Campus, run by the Carbon Footprint Association, is a free educational initiative designed to empower citizens in the fight against climate change.

This campus offers a comprehensive approach that enables participants to learn how to identify, measure, reduce, offset, and communicate their carbon footprint.

The main objective is to provide people with the tools and knowledge they need to understand and effectively manage their environmental impact.

Once the training is complete, your organization can request free support from a volunteer with the Carbon Footprint Association. The volunteer will help you with the following process:

Measuring the organization’s carbon footprint.
Implementing measures to reduce emissions.
Registration on the official MITECO (Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge)platform.

  • Gain an in-depth understanding of personal and organizational carbon footprints, Scopes 1, 2, and 3

Campus Layout

Discovering the Carbon Footprint: Participants will learn what a carbon footprint is and how it is generated through their daily activities, from energy use at home to transportation and the consumption of goods and services.

Measuring the Carbon Footprint:Participants will learn methods and tools for calculating their personal carbon footprint. This will include the use of online calculators and specific apps that make it easier to quantify CO2 emissions.

Reducing the Carbon Footprint:Citizens will receive guidance on how to reduce their carbon emissions through sustainable practices, such as energy efficiency, the use of renewable energy, sustainable mobility, and responsible consumption.

Carbon Footprint Offsetting:Participants will be instructed on how to offset emissions that cannot be directly reduced through reforestation projects, biodiversity conservation, and other certified offset programs.

Carbon Footprint Reporting: Citizens will learn how to communicate their efforts and achievements in reducing their carbon footprint, both in their personal and professional lives. They will be taught how to use communication tools and social media to raise awareness among others about the importance of climate action.

Volunteer Support

 

The program relies on a network of volunteers from the Carbon Footprint Association, who provide ongoing support to participants.

These volunteers are experts in sustainability and are trained to offer personalized advice, answer questions, and guide residents through the entire process.

Interaction with volunteers ensures that participants can progress at their own pace and receive specific assistance tailored to their individual needs.
